Team
Limited (JCST) is an independent software developer
and systems consultant. We are conversant in all aspects of systems'
life cycle: design, development, implementation and operation. Our
focus is on state-of-the-art technology:
- Java for servers, workstations and handheld devices
- Object databases on the server
- SOAP (Web Services) and proprietary optimized client/server
communication
- RFID inputs
- Virtualization for server optimization
Some examples of systems & tools JCST provides
are:
Art
Inventory System |
 |
| Custom
built to handle a substantial private art collection, the system
manages
the information pertaining to the works in the collection. Access to
the
system is through a Java client that allow users to maintain
the information about each work, their images and even link to related
sites.

Pilot Log Book
|
 |
| A small, standalone system that can be
installed on a workstation (MAC users note it requires Java 1.6). It
demonstrates some of the power of building a GUI
in Java and is built using an Object database (db4objects).

Client/Server Middlewaree |
 |
While SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) based on xml is the
industry standard for moving data between computers it can be
complicated to use and is inefficient if there are large, complex
objects are to be moved over a communications line.
Our middleware, originally developed at the time Java was first
introduced to the world, moves entire objects between client and server
over a TCP/IP connection. There is no complex marshalling and
unmarshalling, just pass an object in at one end and retrieve it at the
other. Over time the system has been enhanced to provide monitoring and
management tools to be able to observe system activity and to stop and
start remote servers.
